Heather McGaughey Teen Voices Presents Beetlejuice JR. at the Farmington Civic Center Farmington, NM –

The Heather McGaughey Teen Voices program is proud to present its 2025 production, Beetlejuice JR., at the Farmington Civic Center. Performances run Thursday, September 25 and Friday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m., with two shows on Saturday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Based on Tim Burton’s beloved cult-classic film, Beetlejuice JR. captures the weird, the wild, and the wonderfully spooky. With its offbeat humor, outrageous characters, and heartwarming themes, the show invites audiences of all ages to laugh, gasp, and celebrate the joy of live theatre. This year’s Teen Voices production is guided by a team of professionals from the Four Corners Musical Theatre Company, bringing top-level expertise and mentorship to our local rising stars.

The show is directed by Matthew Aaron, with Sarah Harkness as choreographer, Shera Piper as musical director, and Johanna Brown as production manager. “Working with kids this age is so important,” said director Matthew Aaron. “They are developing processes to overcome situations they haven’t personally experienced, making them better storytellers. Watching these kids attack the material in Beetlejuice JR., which deals with loss, wanting to connect, and a sense of home and what that means, has been a true pleasure. The moment something clicks and makes sense to them, watching their talent grow right in front of your eyes, is really exciting. We are so lucky to have a program like Heather McGaughey Teen Voices for these kids. It is such a wonderful playground for them to express, challenge, and push beyond the limits they think they are capable of in a safe, semi-professional atmosphere.” The Heather McGaughey Teen Voices program, named in honor of the late Heather McGaughey, continues to inspire young performers throughout the community.

This year is especially meaningful as it marks 20 years since Heather’s passing, a milestone that reminds us of the impact her legacy has had on the arts in Farmington and the Four Corners region.
