San Juan College (SJC) Global Studies invites you to a special presentation from Fulbright Scholar Dr. Kelly Robison on Thursday, September 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Suns Room, located near Mary’s Kitchen.
Robison, an SJC professor of history, was granted a Fulbright award for the academic year 2023-24. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government's flagship international academic exchange program. Since 1946, it has provided over 400,000 talented and accomplished students, scholars, teachers, artists, and professionals of all backgrounds with the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct research abroad.
During the 2024 spring semester, Dr. Robison was a guest lecturer in English and History classes at Daugavpils University, in the second largest city in Latvia, a country on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia. Dr. Robison says, “ I chose Latvia because of a long-time interest in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet/Eastern Bloc states.” His wife also has family ties to Latvia.
San Juan College students, employees and the community are invited to attend the presentation on Thursday, September 12.
