Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back day. The program started 10 years ago to get unneeded prescription drugs off the streets. According to the official website, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs and the majority of abused drugs were obtained from family and friends, or from the home medicine cabinet.
This year the DEA will also collect vaping devices and cartridges.
The Take Back program has collected more than 11 million pounds of drugs over the past 10 years.
