The Oak Ridge Boys played the Kentucky State Fair for the 37th consecutive year Monday night.
In 1976, the first year the group performed at the fair, they were still singing gospel music. It wasn’t until the next year that they switched to country music, releasing their debut country album, Ya’ll Come Back Saloon.
This year, the Oaks are celebrating 40 years with their current lineup of members. The quartet is made up of Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, Richard Sterban and William Lee Golden.
Included in the year-long celebration is band's current 40th Anniversary Tour, a commemorative CD project, an Oak Ridge Boys cruise and a network television special.
